We The Fest WTF 2015

Music Festival is a thingy now. Whatever the reason you go to a music festival, it's fun! This is not Coachella, this is We The Fest alias Coachella "ala-ala". Here in Jakarta, youngsters are craving for a hip fun music event (that is not limited to just clubbing, dance, and EDM). Something like Coachella, where they can dress up in a typical summer outfit *although it's almost always Summer in Jakarta, listen to bands, rappers, singers, sightseeing, dance, sing along, and have fun with friends. When I was a teenager I was always curious about Woodstock and hoping that someday it will happen again and I can experience it. (Maybe) the same way people want it to happen again, nowadays people all over the world are bringing back the music festival, such as Coachella, Bonnaroo, Summer Sonic, Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, and many more.

Adapting from them (I guess, cos they actually named the Stages as The Clownchella and the Bananapalooza), ISMAYA Live makes an annual music festival named We The Fest. On August 9 2015, I went there with my friend Sekar and yes we had fun! Located in Parkir Timur Senayan, overall the festival was great, tho unfortunately Passion Pit cancelled their show at the last minute because Michael the frontman was sick. They divided shows on 2 big stages. And like other music festivals, some shows are overlapping (*this is one of the things I don't like, but what can I say, "you can't have everything you want at the same time" lol).

I saw 360, an australian rapper (I knew him because Ruby Rose was in one of their music video called "Boys Like You" but strangely, they didn't play that song!), then Panama (I was planned to leave and move to other stage where Echosmith was playing only to catch "Cool Kids" but when Panama finished, they already gone! ~I guess that I could NOT be like the Cool Kids.... But it was okay cos shows after them: Flight Facilities and Jessie Ware. Both played a beautiful and neat sets and successfully made the crowd enjoy themselves! After Jessie Ware, we watched Kimbra from the side of the stage, such an artist with genuine music. We also danced hard on Madeon's top performance then dance a bit on Motez's set just cos we still have a little energy left. Comparing to WTF 2014 this was better organised.
I love how they put a proper portable toilet and securities that seriously checked after tongsis (selfie stick) *can't imagine how to enjoy the shows worrying about getting hit by tongsis.

Here are some pics from WTF 2015

How we had fun at WTF 2015! I listened to 360's other songs after, and love this one that I used in this video called "Price of Fame". Go check it out!

Are you going to WTF 2016?
